How to Control Your Competitive Environment, presented by Dr. Chris Curran

Participants will learn strategies to control counterproductive thoughts, shift attention and manage pre-race anxiety in both training and racing. The presentation will cover applied work in sport and performance psychology. Come prepared to participate and challenge yourself in the process of becoming more resilient.
Chris holds a doctoral degree in Sport and Performance Psychology and a master’s degree in Human Performance. He has experience consulting with youth, high school, college, professional athletes, adapted sports athletes, coaches, corporate executives and military personnel. While working as a Department of Defense contractor, Chris applied performance psychology consulting to US Army soldiers, leadership and command teams, conducting over 100 workshops. Currently, Chris teaches adapted physical education South County and is an adjunct professor at St. Louis Community College.
Chris races on the road as a Category 1 cyclist. He as competed in track, cyclocross, mountain bike and triathlon races.
